So the other day I got $5 in shop your way points. I decided today to use them on a Miini Union Shovel that was on sale from $11.99 down to $4.99 for the garden. When after selecting the store pick option and completing my purchase the last page prompted a message saying that I was eligible for in-vehicle pick up. I was WTF? umm.... okay. So I entered my car discription info and clicked on the demo video. I swear i'm not that lazy but I kinda wanna see if this in vehicle pick up thing really works. Guess i'll let ya know soon.

The fact that they offer this almost makes me want to cry. But...I'm interested in how it goes.

I once tried the online Lowe's ordering thing (where they have your order ready to purchase at the service desk). I really tested them by ordering three door lock sets and was interested if they would pick three matched sets or not. They didn't put that much thought into it and I got two matched and one unmatched. When I pointed this out, they called the guy from the lock department...three times. Meanwhile, I'm saying I'll just go get the right ones but they say hold on he'll be here soon. He shows up, I explain my delima, and he says "follow me".

We go back to the lock area and he sits down at his desk ... I'm confused at what we're doing here and getting a little frustrated as this is already taking three times as long than if I had just picked the parts off the shelf myself and checked out. He starts to open the packaging on one of the lock sets and I ask him what his plan is. He says he's going to rekey the lockset that didn't match. I pointed out that I can just get the lockset off the shelf right behind him with a matching code .... It took a few seconds for that to sink in.....that was the last time I tried that service.

As Jay Leno would say . . . .
. . . . . . .
. . . . . . . How FAT does everyone in Amerca have to be ???? :eyecrazy:

Leno was slamming the latest gadget for FAT Americans . . . . ie the "Bacon Bowl" which is upside-down muffin tin design that cooks bacon in shape of a BOWL so that people can put other stuff like chocolate and eat in Bacon Bowl !!

It's like the people waiting in line at the drive-up window for a burger and fries. They will wait inline for 10 minutes, while my wife and I go in, get our order and are on our way, while they're still waiting in line...

doesn't matter - they're in a death spiral anyway. This will help keep the customer from seeing the nearly bare, fluffed shelving.

I can see it as useful if I need the wife to pick something up for me. Especially since the closest Sears isn't in the best part of town.

I use the Lowe's online purchase/pick up in store thingy any time I need something that I don't feel like hunting down in the store. They move **** around so much in my Lowes and I don't want to spend 20 minutes walking around looking for it. I also use it when I am buying loose nuts and bolts because it absolutely ***** to try and check out with a few pieces. You can tell the cashier what it is until you pass out and they still call the hardware guy to verify.

Did the online/store pick up Christmas time at the local Bass Pro for some socks. Figured I'd avoid most of the shopping delays.
Arrived at store counter, waited in line 15 minutes to get a clerk who promptly told me my order was ready and would be there in 15 minutes to pick up!!!!!
Already invested, I waited 20 min, sitting right by the counter. Walk back up to see what the hold up was. Waited a few min for another clerk as the first was gone. Start all over except the package was at the counter. Took another 10 minutes to "check out" for an already paid for package.

Never again!

My Sears has a package pickup entrance where you swipe your credit card and it automatically prompts system that I'm ready to pickup. Only person I deal with is warehouse guy bringing out the item(s). When it's heavy, they wheel it out on a dolly to my car.

Even around Christmas time, I never waited never more than few minutes when couple people were ahead of me in the que.

Last pickup for the tool bag deal was around 1 minute. I'm happy with my Sears in terms of convenience and customer service.

THIS^^^ I use it every time I buy from Sears. It's cool because our Sears is in a mall, a big mall & I dont want to hunt for parking. This allows me to park right in front (a special area) and not have to go all the way into the store (where I would probably end up buying more). In & out, I'm done.

Add my vote to this. Ordered online, confirmation email 15 minutes later, go to customer pickup. In & out in a minute or two, no hassle parking.
