These Dewalt sets have just started to drop in price in my area. Will probably take months before they get to $23....

It's a sale in my store. Not a clearance item. They are a Stanley owned brand, one can only hope their anti slip open ends are a proto inspired feature

They were located on the tap and die/drill bit aisle in my store. 2 away from any craftsman wrench lol

I got these for $29.99 from Sears Outlet not too long ago. Great wrenches. Thin profile and comfortable. Made in Taiwan (top notch). Highly recommend.

I was able to find two sets of the SAE ratcheting wrenches for $23 each at my store. I had purchased the metric set back when they dropped to $30 a few months back. Thank you for the heads up on these. They are very nice wrenches for the money.

They will only be that price in certain stores, and Sears will not price match their own store prices from other locations.. I started the first thread about these. They are very good for the money, and the open end is a copy of the proto anti slip design, just Taiwan made.

I checked today and these are about half price at my local store.

Does anyone know how long does it take for further price drops?

I have them and I have to say their ratcheting mechansim is friggin awesome! At first I thought i give gearwrench hands down in that department versus Dewalt.. Later on the look of dewalt got me temptated go ahead to buy it. I played around with it. It got me convinced that I am wrong about gearwrench is not the leading ratcheting wrench on the column. I give dewalt a nod

The Dewalt ones are really nice, very thin ratcheting profile, helps in the tight spots

Does anyone know the rate at which these get discounted?

My local Sears stores carry these, but they are full price of $99.99

CPO Outlets had these on sale last year for $30 (including shipping) as well. Very good quality for the price; can't go wrong. Heck, they should relabel these as Blackhawk by Proto :D

I stopped by my local Sears over lunch to pick up the 3/8 wobble extension set I had purchased last week. The SAE and Metric sets were marked down to $23.44. I picked up 2 of each. One set for myself and the other for my son (birthday present). Best of all I had $10 in surprise points to use.

its funny you say that. i have some blackhawks that have the thin tops like the dewalts. there is much more clearance on the top of the ratcheting end than any brands i own and i have a bunch. could be made in the same spot in taiwan

standard or metric, reversible!
what a deal. i bought 4 sets!

Thanks for posting this - I just picked up four sets. The two SAE sets were behind the discounted metric sets & rang up at full price. Manager gave me the $23.44 price on all four.

That was all the stock they had, at least on display.

I checked the price a couple weeks ago and they came up at $44. I checked again yesterday and the guy said they are full price, $99. Not a clearance item then, just a sale item?

I live in Alabama but wasn't able to find either set locally. I picked up the SAE set for $99 last week while in Reno and was able to return/rebuy at my local store for $23. I'm headed to Hawaii today and hope to find the metric set...

I checked the nearest Sears and no luck :( If anyone has a extra set they got on sale and want to part with in SAE and Metric (really need SAE) and help a guy out that would be awesome. PM me.

If not I will keep a looking.

None in West Knoxville, but they had tons of stuff on pretty big sales. Some things ridiculously low, like a 20 piece ratcheting Craftsman brand non-reversible set normally $120, on sale for $40.

When I checked a few weeks ago these were $44 at my store. I checked again last week (and again today just to be sure), and the price is back at $99.

Weird? Not a clearance item I guess?

Nothing but $90+ at Sears in the front range of Colorado. Murdoch's has dozens of the metric set for $50, but no SAE to be found around here (maybe one in Salida?).

So, I picked up the metric set from Murdoch's and was going to wait (and wait and wait...) for Sears to finally make the SAE set reasonable. Then I found this auction! $59.99 w free shipping. He only had two. I got the first one so there is only one left!

I know that he probably paid $23.44 for them, but what can you do? :dunno:

Looks like a nice set. Too bad he does not have the metric. Looks like 6 pt. on the ratchet end. I see DeWalt gaining momentum in the mechanics tool arena.

Broke down and bought a SAE set for my work box off of ebay. The price was about $62 shipped but they look like they are worth every penny. I have not used them but will give them a good workout at well work.

If they turn out to be as good as I am thinking I will probably buy a metric set if I can find a deal on them. I don't use metric much at work but I am sure they will come in handy. These will be upgrading my chinese craftsman lobster claw non reversables that have actually served me well except for their non compact size and none 15 degree angled to them. Will either sell those or put them to home use.
