After reading some threads over the last few months about Sears.com listing their industrial wrenches and sockets really cheap,it struck me today that a lot of people state that they paid this or that price plus shipping.I realized that it may not be widely known that if you go to the store and have an associate order for you,the shipping is free.I've bought maybe 3 or 4 flex sockets and 3 Craftsman Professional wrenches over the last couple of weeks and just wandered into Sears while the wife was next door at Target and ordered there.I thought this info might come in handy for someone.

Most stores have this, usually just have to wait for the truck to bring it. I noticed most appliance places are like this, where you have to order it.

So, drive to the store. Order a couple wrenches. Go home. 3 days later go back to sears and pick up the wrenches. In the process spending $15 or more on gas when shipping only costs $7

Actually, they usually ship it to your house. You still drive there once however...

Well it all depends on the individual and how close their Sears store is to them.I only live 1/2 mile from Sears and have never had to return to the store to pick up an item. All you have to do is have them ship it to your house. Why get excited over buying a wrench online for a couple of bucks yet paying $6 for shipping.Besides,I used to like going into Sears just to look around, but anymore, not so much.I just thought other members might like to know that the option is there.

Thanks OP for the heads up. I usually don't buy anything without free shipping and I have passed on items like you mentioned because of shipping costs. It's good to know I can go to my nearby store and just let them order it for me and not have to pay shipping.

This makes me think of buying a wrench on E-bay but Paying just as much or more in shipping and handling. :dunno:

I'm a craftsman club member & have been disappointed with sears & the shipping costs.
I can buy (most of the time) exact same product on ebay same cost with Free shipping.

Sears is missing the boat!!
I needed parts for my snowblower & the prices & shipping were 85.00.

Same parts OEM sears from E-bay cost 53.00 with free shipping.

Again, all OEM from different sellers, but at my house within a week.

Sears is no longer my first stop..
The quality has diminished & the customer service is awful...
