Sears in stock items

Maybe someone here that works at Sears can chime in, but what's the sears policy on rotating stock? With the new dual marked sockets (stamped and laser etched), what do they do with the older laser etched only sockets? I see that almost all of their stock is of the new variety and I find it hard to believe that they sold all of the older ones in every size let alone at every store.

On a similar note, it seems the ratchet series are pretty up to date and consistent among the various stores I've visited. The thin profile ratchets are at KX and I can't seem to find the older VW series anywhere. Again, I find it hard to believe that they have all been sold. What's the sears policy when it comes to stocking items? Are they pulled from shelves and sent somewhere?

We did not RTV (return to vendor) any of our older sockets when they changed: they originally were stamped/cast #'s, then "laser etched" and now both on the new stock of sockets that have come in... each time, new versions come in... we just sell what we have left until they are gone and as new stock comes in they are replaced with the new... eventually, the old stock is gone... in the past, sometimes they marked down the older styles when we "reset" the display (we put up new displays/plastic #'s that go behind the display/stock hooks, typically once every year or so) and put them in the "clearance" section with lower prices and these eventually would go to "zero"; at that point they are RTV'd and are shipped out.
