Check your Sears/ Kmart SYWR accounts, most people have been awarded $10 in free points, that expire soon. Useully email notifications are sent the day the points are set to expire, stating that the points are to be used in certain departments. In my experiances, I have been able to use the points online and instore on anything I wanted and not in the department stated in the notice. Good Luck.

Does everyone get these free point coupons? I have never once gotten one and I shop there all the time and always use my SYWR account. :/

I haven't ever gotten one of these - this is the first time (I have had the "account" since August).

I didn't get an email, though - the points just "appeared" in my account.

The whole point of programs like this is (from a retailer standpoint) is to be able to tailor offers specifically to specific customers in a way that will help your sales the most. It is entirely likely that not everyone will get the same thing at the same time. It is also likely that they are trying different things to see how people react.

If you log onto the the SYWR site you can see your old purchases and if any points have been added to your account. If you don't have it set up so they can send you email, you may just never know if you got points or they may not give you points if they don't have your email address.

Thanks to the OP for the heads up on this. I wonder if they will honor this over at the outlet if I need some of the industrial wrenches?? Probably worth a shot. Says whole house on my list for the points and the last time I checked tools were part of my whole house! :lol_hitti

i didn't get anything this time around, but the last 3 weeks they've been sending me $5, $4, $3, etc... of course, all of it expires on Monday right after the weekend I get the notice via email. the $10 would be more useful... trying to figure out something useful to get with $3 on sears.com was a bit challenging..

Yea, just got an email about the points. It's a 'small gesture' for those affected by Sandy, according to the email.

No email. But I logged in to my account and found:

"Heads Up! You have 10000 points expiring on 11/8/2012"

Thanks for the heads-up!

Edit: And just as I posted this the email arrived in my inbox.

I got this and have a $10 off $30 coupon. Any ideas for the $30 range? I have a pretty good selection of craftsman mechanics tools, so maybe something less common or in a different category?

Nice. I get random $$ in SWYR points that expire within a week, so I make it a point to casually check every day or every other day. One day I got a random 4000 ($4) points for some wierd reason. I also got 2000 ($2) points for no reason.

Also check around your birthday; I got a coupon for $10 off $30 around my birthday.

BTW, I bought a silicone stainless spatula with my $10 (FREE). I know its not garage tools etc., but ive been looking for a set that wont melt and not made of nylon plastic like alot of **** out there.

This Kenmore Elite set gets awesome reviews and Im impressed with the 500 degree silicone rating and stainless built into the handle (so it wont melt on the pan). Check it out:

http://www.sears.com/kenmore-elite-...blockNo=1&blockType=G1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1

They are about $10 a piece and if SWYR is going to keep on sending me free points, then Im going to get the whole damn collection (10+ pieces) this way.

was gonna do the same.... ended up using it on the 9-piece craftsman industrial 1/4" 6-point deep sockets and the 10-piece thorsen 12-point 3/8" sockets.... after points and tax, not bad for $4.85.

I bought some fiddly-bits last evening. When I checked out my price was adjusted according to the SYWR points. When I got the email receipt this morning it was not. Hmm. We'll see how this works out. Sears online operation is really messed up. I speak from experience here as I work for a company that does retail and online fulfillment.
