Sears Pass/Fail Permathread!

How is the Craftsman hand impact driver? I've been looking at the Lisle, but I came across the Craftsman and had some points to burn, plus it is cheaper and looks identical. Reviews on Sears were good, but we all know how that fairs.

I own one. It's not bad. U have to make sure it's twisted in the direction u need it after every whack or two because it tends to twist back. I also broke a Phillips bit.

Not a bad idea to get a snap on brand bit to go in it. But as far as the driver. No real issues

At one time Lisle was the OEM for the Craftsman versions (3/8 & 1/2)--I don't know if that is still the case.

I don't know anything about the unit, itself, but as far as bits no matter the brand they live a limited life. It's more to do with their task than quality. My local tool seller keeps these in stock and I pick up a few from time to time because they're consumable items. I don't expect any of them to last as long as I expect the impact mechanism.

The Craftsman 71-69602 black rubber garden hoses are PASS with flying colors. Machined brass fittings that you can run over with a car, and the rubber doesn't get stiff in the cold. Made in the USA with a lifetime warranty, although I haven't needed it, as I've got some that are about 10 years old now. They put them on sale for $19.99 periodically, I just bought a couple more.

They don't like being run over with a lawnmower, though.

PASS - 3 Piece hose pinch plier set;Model # 74Z706. I believe they are made in USA by Imperial and sold under a bunch of different names including Blue Point, Matco, and maybe SK.

PASS - Heavy Duty Disc Spreader; Model # 36600SEARS. Made in USA, but don't know the OEM. Built really well and should make changing out Ford Super Duty pads much easier.

PASS - 48pc thread restorer kit; Model # 971 2750. Made by Kastar in the USA and resold under a bunch of different names, including SnapOn.

PASS - Hose Clamp Pliers; Model # 28650-998. Made in France, but I don't know the OEM.

PASS - 2-1/4" Telescoping Inspection Mirror; Model # 41603. Made in USA by Ullman.

PASS - 12pc Nutdriver Set; Model # 34555. Hard to beat for the price. They have semi-hollow shafts, but should handle 99% of the tasks out there. Made in USA.

My parents have these hoses that are over 30 years old and still going strong. I actually was talking to my dad about them this afternoon. I wish the 100ft went on sale like the 50 ft. Looks like I will be picking up a couple this evening.

DO NOT GET THE RIVET GUN with the swivel head. IT BUSTED THE FIRST TIME I USED IT!

PASS: Craftsman Chrome 42 or 44 piece Socket Set still COO USA. You can not put a better assortment together anywhere else for the price.

PASS: CMan PRO Stubby Wrenches...Sell the 20 PC Set at a steal compared COO USA Tools...even ordered the 2 bigger sizes that did not come with the kit bc I have OCD. Paired them with my ERNST 11 PC Holder and they are awesome!

PASS: Hammer, I purchase them when they are on Sale via Weekly ADS and COO USA work as they should

The impacts are laser etched and stamped....u mean he's rubbing the laser etching off?? Find it hard to believe the stamping is dissapearing.

yeah they are great, especially after buying cheap hoses at WM.

Lots of recent discussions on various Sears products on the forums. Thought I'd bump this and add one I ran across. Please post your reviews here on what you've found worth getting or not. Some new C3 cordless tools out there for instance.

One I'll add are the Craftsman Wood Chisels. These are made in USA still. I ran across a nice set. With the varous Sears points, can be had fairly cheaply. But the best one is shipped, not available in stores anymore, and is the 6 piece set. I think these are good quality and a value for the money:
