Sears Score!

So I was at Sears picking up my online order today in northern Houston, and I spotted something that would've been in the 'hot deal index' thread as soon as I arrived home.:)

The Craftsman workshop mats were marked at $6.99! I grabbed 2 since grabbing all would've been too greedy. :lol_hitti

In suspicion it possibly is incorrectly marked--and it was--I hoped for the best; after the sales guy requested the manager, he saw the mistake and still honored the pricing set forth. :bounce:

SCORE! Haha.

Too bad it wasn't the "sale" price, right?! I asked which were the correct mats, and he didn't even know. I should've grabbed all, but that would've lessen my chance of that price being honored. lol

That's awesome!!

I'd buy 2-3 at that price too!

I'm all ready to run out to my nearest Sears, but they've closed, although I imagine that all Sears stores are closed at this time. =(

That's how I scored my $500+ Craftsman Pro drill press for $179...was supposed to be on sale for $479. I love Sears price mistakes. :bounce:

That's truly thread worthy. Haha

Mine, not so much... except to say I have slick mats for my work bench now.

Was that a few years ago? I remember that the 15" drill press was "mispriced" for 1-2 weeks. Most people got their orders fulfilled, many were denied.

I'm hoping that this pricing is widespread! :D

It might not be an error. Look how many mats are stacked there! My local Sears never carried more than 2-4 on any given day.

Yea, it was the 17"...

I finally got it unpackaged and set-up a few weeks ago...it had been boxed up ever since purchase awaiting a garage of my own to install it in. :)

I have to pick up an order of Gearwrenches in the morning, so I'll be sure to check on the mats!

My BIL did the same thing at Home Depot a few years back. Seems they mis-priced Lincoln wire-feed welders and put 110V's price on the 220V model. Sold out real quick, they did.

I love mispriced merchandise. I was just looking at those mats yesterday they were 19.99 at my sears.

However I went to lowes later on and scored a 16" drill press for $250 regular $479 clearance price. It had a bent track, and missing the 12mm Allen key. Fixed the track with a propane torch and a dead blow, bought a 12mm key for $7.

I would have bought those at that price too, great deal. you can use them for a lot of stuff. i used a similar mat and cut it size to line the top of my shop cart.

the only mispriced item i ever found at sears was a craftsman 22mm deep impact socket priced at 1.99. i bought it without hesitation :)

I dreamt that I had a few minutes at Sears. Left the wife in the car and ran into Sears. Found the mats, but they were priced at $3.99. I went nuts, trying to pick up a few. Removed boxes to get to the cleaner ones on the bottom. Then I ended up taking anti-static towels and then some weird kind of inert drink that's meant to be drunk while working on electronics.

Then, I was struggling to use a PB Swiss screwdriver to secure a slotted screw that was holding a pin, kind of like in an adjustable snap ring pliers. The pin kept slipping.

I then realized that I dropped all the mats I picked up, so I reached for another. Then some guy kept arguing with me about why I wanted some silly mats.

I guess that's what I get for watching Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland before going to sleep...

What is the point of a Mat like that? I think it would get destroyed with oil, welding sparks, paint over spray, etc. all mixed into it.

Adam
When you've got to stand around for a while on a hard surface, the mat helps relieves some pressure/weight on your feet/back etc.

If it gets destroyed, replace it in a few years.

Those mats are really nice and cushy. I have one at my basement workbench (no oil, welding sparks or paint overspray =) I have the red...there is never black at my sears! These mats are made in USA also.

I got the super heavy duty may for $6.99 in the clearance section.

I posted about it but couldn't find the thread.
It weighs 12lbs!

Your deal is still nice though. How do they know it was an error? It can't be just the wrong price, because the description is correct

====================
oh yeah, I also found these huge mats (46" x 93") in the clearance section for $10 each.
