If anyone is interested in stainless steel workbench tops, Sears has started selling them in 8' and 6' lengths
8' -$249- Item # 14966 (24" deep")
6' -$199- Item # 14965 or 14962 cant remember which (24" deep")

Heres some pics, pretty nice stuff. However just to warn you they wont come up on the website, but they will show up on the sears computer. It took 1 month to get mine in.

figures that they'd be selling them cheaper after i get mine in ...

That is CHEAP. Was this a nightmare to get or was it straightforward? What kind of finish is on the stainless?

When I bought it, the computer said it will be at the store in 1 week. 4 weeks later I still didnt have it. Eventually they said the warehouse was waiting from the manufacturer.
What they eventually did was take the table off of a brand new workbench set that they just got in for a display. YMMV.

The finish is brushed but not heavily , typical commercial grade look.

That price is a bit high, but probably a good deal to the general population.

This is a pic of a 40' top. I have several more the widths vary up to 38" deep. A 10' x 48" sheet of 16 ga is just under $200.

(It's a benefit to work in a shop that fabricates with stainless sheets.)

Johnman is right...There is a local stainless fab shop in or close to nearly every city that has an appreciable number of restaurants...they can make up exactly what you want... And you can bet it will be heavier guage material than the Chinese stuff Sears is selling.

All the ones I called didn't want to take my order. YMMV.
