sears veteran discount

not sure if this is all over but my 2 of my local sears store offer a 5% discount for Veterans. Just thought I'd post hey 5% at least lowers the tax in my state

Bring your DD214 to the DMV in NJ and they will now put your veteran status on your drivers license.

This started March 1st. For now, they are just using a sticker, but once you renew it will be printed on.

I got this discount last week, kinda surprised me but it's a nice gesture. I guess Sears finally caught on that some of us like saving money. I do a little shopping at Sears, Ace, and such places, but the bulk of my purchases are from HD and Lowes. Supporting a family of 7 and maintaining four separate houses on E-6 pay means that every penny saved is appreciated.

It's usually 5% off sale items and 20% off regular full price items, except some holidays (e.g. Veterans Day) when it jumps to 10% and 40%.

They also do occasional store veteren appreciation days. At least we did at our store (usually happens in summer time). More or less friends and family but for vets.

Last year is a blur though so I can't remember if we did.
