Went into Sears last night to warranty a few tools. I certainly won't ever buy any from them again but that's another story. Guy in front of me wants to reurn a drill chuck. Drill size and chuck size are the same but won't fit. No big deal. Clerk takes him to get a different one. Clerk says they have to run transaction before they can open package to see if it fits. Clerk runs transaction and guy gets a few bucks back. New chuck doesn't fit either. They let me do my thing and I left. I'm guessing clerk had to run another transaction to give him the rest of his money back. Of course Sears receipts are roughly 500 feet long so a ton of paper was wasted when the clerk could have simply opened the package to see if other chuck would fit. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
