I went to Sears at the Mall today, went up and down the tool aisles and ended up buying a 1/4" drive Spinner Handle. I didn't even need a time-traveling DeLorean , just a trip to Bowling Green, Ohio. The aisles were short and the section was kind of weak and all the Craftsman tools were made in China. But damn ! -it was a Sears at the Mall. There was also a sign saying "You could own this store" it's for sale I'm sure they would make you a deal

I went to a Sears a few months ago in North Carolina and it was pretty much bare. All the individual tools were locked up you had to ask for them and you weren’t allowed to grab them only the employee was. I sure will miss them when they are gone completely. I sure do miss the one here in my hometown used to go there just about everyday after school or work.

my car battery crapped out ahead of warranty, so i took it to advance auto parts the other day to get a replacement. i had missed that they bought the diehard battery name. i read they paid $200 million for it. that's a lot of money to slap a different sticker on their batteries.

They do $10B year in revenue and who wouldn't want to buy a battery with the name "Diehard"

There's still a few Sears stores that just sell appliances, lawnmowers, etc. Some of them have a tiny tool section.
