Second subpanel need main breaker?

I have some #2 wire and was thinking about running to a second sub panel from the subpanel in the front of my garage. This is so I won't need as many runs of smaller wire to the back of the shop. Was pricing panels and noticed that the panels with out a main breaker were much less expensive.(main lug panel) If it is being fed from a subpanel in the same building does it need a main breaker?

As Aceman said, subs don't need main breakers, as the feed breaker in the main panel limits overall current to the sub.

The breaker for the feeder supplying the subpanel is indeed adequate PROVIDED it limits the current to no more than the rating of the subpanel. If you put a 60 amp subpanel on a feeder supplied by a 100 amp breaker, then you will need a main breaker.
