Another puzzle. I am getting a thumping noise from the front end of my 02 Grand Prix. It will do it sometimes when I back up while turning the wheel, when I go slowly around a turn and going straight from a dead stop. It does not do it all the time and I only notice it at low speed. As I speed up, the sound seems to go away. No steering problems when it does this. At least not that I notice.

I'm trying to avoid the wheels falling off while I'm driving. Any ideas?

Someone on the GP forum suggested it was the sway bar end links.

Thanks

Coach

Go drive slowly in a parking lot making turns, do you hear a clunk, clunk, clunk throughout the radius of the turn? Possibly an intermediate shaft issue. Can't really tell from this end without driving it... Your wheels probably aren't going to fall off though unless your lug nuts are loose.:wtf:

Try posting in the Free Parking area....you might get more responses than in the Tool discussion.

not sure how the front ends are on those vehicles but it could be a cv joint boot thats ripped/torn.
