I have a really cool garage but it is missing those funky hideaways spots, pull down drawerss in the ceiling, under the floor spots, etc. Anyone have any plans for this kind of stuff. Spots to hide small parts, sort projects, etc. Any web sites too would be a help.

Are you talking like hidden tunnels and stuff? Or just like sinking a safe in the concrete floor and covering it with a rug? haha...

No seriously... why would you want something like that?

I would defeat the purpose of them being hidden by discussing them here, wouldn't I?

But I do have two regular doors inside my shop. I was going to lable one "METH LAB" and the other "**** STUDIO"

Well, I had a smuggling compartment in a garage (a couple of houses ago).

It was a split entry house - to enter the house, you walk up a few steps, through the door, and on to a landing - you can then go either up or down.

The stairwell / landing was right next to the garage. There was no access to the area under the landing (but one closet under the stairwell). I got to thinking... What's under the landing?

So I cut a hole in the sheetrock in the garage. Whoa. There's an empty space under there... 8 feet by 8 feet by about 3 feet high.

Next thing you know, I had it full of wheels, seats, mufflers, boxes, and anything else I could stuff in there. ;) I cut the sheetrock so that I could simply slide it back in to place. Yeah, the cut was "kinda obvious", but the ~200 cubic feet of storage space more than made up for it.

That's funny...

The door to the garage is off our kitchen, right next to the door to the laundry room. I was looking at Men's / Women's restroom door signs on ebay. The wife saw the auctions I was watching, and asked me about it.

So, I told her I wanted a Men's room sign for the door to the garage. She thought it was funny until I added that I wanted to put a Women's room sign on the laundry room. That got me a night or two in the doghouse, but it was worth the look on her face!

My garage is 40 ft from my house. The whole thing is my secret compartment. ;) The War Dept has no idea when I bring home strays. Tools and such I mean. I actually use the space above the rafters as my "parts dept" You need a ladder to get up there. She doesn't do ladders.
