Hey fellas,

Question for ya'll. Woody suggested using $30 worth of used tools instead of $30 in new tools since I know I won't be able to pony up the $30 in December. I'm leaving my current job in November and it might be a while before I get back on my feet.

Believe me, My stuff may not be used but I've got a ton of the old stuff. S-K Wayne, Fleet, Bonney, Proto (Including Los Angeles), Plumb, VLCHEK, Wright, Indestro, Bunch of old truck brands- All of them. Some Kobalt goodies. etc. etc. etc.

I could easily make up for the newness in quantity and quality.

Let me know if that's alright by everybody. Love to pass some of my finds onto a GJ'er.

yep, it's all good! A lot of people gave used last year and years before from what I've read. The gifts I received were new and the gifts I gave were a mixture of new and used.

I've seen these go good and go bad. Sounds like there is a pretty good history of it going well enough here.

I'm in, whats the deal? I would have to say no cheap china in the gifts! No gift cards cause that would be thoughtless. Should research your secret santa throught previous posts and avatars maybe?

I sent blacknwhitepit a PM asking if he was going to the SS this year and if he wasn't, then I was gonna get the ball rolling.

I'm waiting to hear back from him before the "official" thread gets started.

Your previous post might suggest you are organizing it. If you read it carefully you can see that it is just a copy of the 2011 intro. Maybe adjusting that post helps

If there is no organizer for 2012, this year, I can automate the entry form, just like here, if you would like.
Otherwise, I'm not meaning to step on any toes...

May I say a big thanks to you and luvit for stepping up and volunteering. I don't think that people realize how big an undertaking the SS effort can be. luvit's offer to create an SS entry form is a really good idea.
I would like to participate again this year.

Uniballer - I would edit your previous post asap or you will be swimming in addresses - it reads like you want to be the organizer!

Or maybe take it down? Whoever is gonna lead this year may need to tweak some guidelines.

I have a form ready. All I need to do is add a couple scripts to keep everyone's information private if you think this is the way to go.

Automating this information *should* be the way to go.. I think I read a post from Ryan somewhere that TGJ has doubled it's active user community base in the past 12 months..

Just saying... there could be an overwhelming response this year.
*** It could also be that more members will sign-up than who can actually follow through with purchase and shipping (good intentions).

Edit your post to remove/replace the info with something else. I can't imagine how swamped you'll be if you keep it up.

I'm still waiting back to hear from blacknwhitepit...it shouldn't be too much longer before I can get a thread started. In working on adjusting the rules a bit from last year as well.
