Moose,

Has BWP agreed to organise this again, or will you be picking up the baton?

Jon

I've had no reply from him and he hasn't logged on since August. Speaking to one of the moderating staff, we arranged that if he didn't reply within a certain time then i would take over, seeing as how the wheels were in motion this time last year. Should i not receive a reply tomorrow suggesting that he will organise i will take over and arrange it.*

*Subject to change at the moderating staff's request.

waht if someone happens to be a communist and not believe in santa claus?

I assume then they wouldn't want to participate?

Will this be international?

Yes. Participants will have the option to be open for international or domestic participation.

There will be a thread with all the info tomorrow, which will explain everything and where you can sign up, ask questions, etc. :)

not really interested this year though.

Not a problem. Should you change you mind you're welcome to join in. :)

Moose, I think you can go ahead and set it up. He hasn't been here since August, and it's been a couple days since you messaged him, so....

Make sure to put me on the list, too.

I really like this idea and will definitely check out the info thread tomorrow. I will be interested in participation if their will be a domestic only option and my post count is high enough to make me eligible!

I emailed BWP awhile back and he said that between family, school and other obligations, he just does not have the time to frequent GJ. So, even if he does reply, I doubt that he will be able to take the time to organize this.

Well, that makes me feel better for telling Moose to fire it up. I didn't want BWP to feel shafted, since this has been his baby in the past.

I'd really like to do this, I think it is really cool! when is the cut-off date to be a senior member?

Edit* like can I theoretically make 86 posts by the 28th and be included in this?

From what I remember they have to be quality posts and have to meet a certain criteria. Do a search on last years SS thread, the rules were posted.

I have already sent Moose my info. I also volunteered to be odd man out if there are an odd number of participants. Moose said that he would take that spot if needed. I personally think that Moose should not be odd man out since he is the one that is taking the time to organize it.

does it have to be new stuff? or can we send out used but functional stuff? Like a older snap on ratchet etc etc etc

From what it seems like last year, although I wasn't involved, you can send anything you would like, as long as it has value or sentimental value to the receiver, like bonney wrenches to a bonney collector, not used socks (although it seems people would like used snap-on socks, lol).
