sectional roll up doors???

I just got a quote on my doors 2-10x10, 3-12x14 installed $6900. This is for 25ga Clopay doors, non insulated, manual chains on the 12x14, electric openers for the 10x10.

Buying the doors from steelbuilding.com it comes to $3900 shipped. So 2 openers, and install will cost $3000. That seems a little high to me.

What has everyone been paying for there doors to be installed?

What type of opener are they quoting you? Drawbar or jackshaft? If they are jackshaft the openers will cost at least 500 each. Any other opener will be about 250 each parts only. So 2 grand doesn't seem out of line to install 5 doors. 400 a door minus materials aint bad IMO.

Yeah I started adding it up, and it does not seem as bad as I first thought. I guess if I had another quote to compare it with. I called 6 overhead door companies out of the phone book, and in 5days only one has called me back.


I will be happy when the shop is done. I keep getting big $$$ suprises, and they are not in my favor.

Local company quoted me $725 installed for a 12x8 roll up door. $525 if I carry it out. Still kicking it around, it'd let me go up another foot at least with my lift...
