Hey everyone, so I recently had an outbuilding constructed. I specifically had no windows installed due to an increasing amount of thefts in the area. The building has double locking barn doors facing the house and is visible from two sides of the home, this is where I have moved all of my lawn and garden equipment to so that I can have my newly renovated shop back to normal.

I work a continental shift pattern and am not home at night at least 2 nights a week.. and even though I have excellent neighbors I'd like to add that secondary line of defense. Since it's rather frowned upon.. and highly not legal to shoot such cowardly rats on sight here in Canada ( sadly) I have to take alternate less invasive measures to protect my belongings.

Currently I don't have any electrical supplied to the building and am not entirely sure I'll be doing so in the future. A hard wired alarm unit is out of the question, although I would very much like a high decibel motion sensing alarm... as loud as possible.. I'm talking 110+ decibels upon detection that could wake the dead. Possibly something with maybe an auto dialer and a key fob.

I've searched through a few forums on here and also looked through home depot, best buy etc with mixed results. SO... I'm hoping some of you guys who are big on security might have a suggestion or two for me! or at the very least point me in the right direction. I should add that I'd also like to chain my lawn tractor, snowblower etc together using a cut proof chain and padlock just as an extra deterrent provided someone ever did get in, might make things tough lifting those over my 6' fence  I'd also like to add some type of very bright motion sensing flood light above the doors to keep them lit at night.

I do have a dog as well although his previous ******* owner abused him so he is rather timid to strangers.

All comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
