Ran into an issue - with the new yellow button chamberlain/liftmaster/craftsman remotes and the obsolete version of the yellow buttons.
Basically - the new remotes can sometimes open the old doors. The transmitted preamble for the new remote - can sometimes activate the old first generation of rolling code openers...
And the companies solution - is the old openers obsolete and unsafe (no photo eye era) - and defective. Thus needs to be replaced.
Great way to piss off the neighbors.... If you have an 80s vintage opener with a yellow learn button - you may want to keep this in mind...
