sediment trap on short LPG line

My LPG tanks are right off the side of the garage, where I'll mount a second stage regulator and come into and up the wall with black iron pipe to the heater location.

I was looking at the Mr. Heater hook up kit, but the valve has a the male compression seat on one side that goes straight to the stainless flex line, making it impossible to plumb a sedimate trap on the upstream side of the valve.

How important is the sediment trap on an LPG system with such short runs?

Is it required per code?

My LP Supplier was happy that I used a Tee instead of an Elbow where I came in the wall.
One end of the Tee goes up to the Heater. The other end goes down into a capped off pipe.

Now the plot thickens.... Where my line taps into the wall from the second stage regulator is only ~2" above the sill.

It is code. It is also one of thise things that if not done sticks out to folks who visit in the future who know the business. There is, I hear, in some localities around the country discussion of eliminating the requirement, but I always put them in.

I've had grit in the lines before, and it caused my regulator to develop a "creep" problem. That is easily dealt with at the regulator, but I would not want to have that at the heater valve. That is less easily dealt with. I put a tee trap in mine.

I have a Modine PTC-65 running off of two 40 lb. tanks.

Here's my plumbing diagram.... note that I have a drip leg at the heater. Do I also need one at the bottom of the vertical wall run?
