Well this weekend was our annual town clean up. My wife and I took a number of items yesterday. I scanned the large dumpster and and found nothing. Every year there is also a dump truck for scrap metal parked next to the dumpster. Yesterday there was nothing in the truck. Today I had a few small items left over to throw away so I made one last trip. Well I found a 5-drawer latteral map file cabinet. It is 39" wide and 28" deep with five drawers and a 5" tall base. So I paid $0 for it. Can't wait to clean it up. Just thought that I would share with you all my score for the day! I will post pictures later.

EDIT: Added a picture.

Picture or not, you can't complain about the price. Nice find.

I'm a bit envious. When we have the rare clean up around here, you just about have to get past an armed guard if you want to pull anything out. I remember as a kid getting chased off when I went to pick up a couple of pumpkins. What possible reason could they have for protecting the pumpkins? It's not like they could be recycled. :wtf:

We came home with the frame from a john deere lawn mower, good tires on it, and the deck from the local trash haul off week.

Nice! I need one of those.. that'd make a great tabletop tooling cabinet to go next to my bridgeport.
