Seeing Red

So, after purchasing much of DeWalt's 20v Max lineup, I've started seeing some Red. It started with a Fuel d-handle rotary hammer and 5.0Ah starter kit at a price I couldn't pass up, and today a Fuel high torque impact wrench and the 9.0Ah starter kit with free Fuel circular saw were added. I really wanted a cordless 7 1/4" saw and was torn etween Fuel and Flexvolt. Well, that debate is over now.

Unless there's a deal too good to leave behind, I don't plan to get Red versions of my Yellow tools, but I am strongly considering the 9.0Ah starter kit with Fuel Sawzall. The circular and reciprocating saws are the only core tools I don't have in DeWalt, and another big Red battery will provide 23Ah total of power for those three tools.

So, another Yellow and Red thread, only this time they coexist harmoniously.

Haha, luckily tools don't bite each other. I would use either, but..Red gave me the coolaid when the rep at HD gave me 2 free batteries and officially pulled me in. xD

Home Depot; some smaller stores have the impact on clearance for $160 from $219, and the starter kit with free circular saw or Sawzall is $249 in all stores.

I drank the same kool aid....kinda. My DeWalt obsession started with $6 12v Max batteries and was further fed by a brushless combo kit for a couple hundred dollars.

Where can you get 12V DeWalt batteries for $6? I got one for $14, but it's an off brand (but works fine).

Yeah, nothing wrong with having 2 different brands of cordless tools. It opens up options, if you can cherry pick the best values from both brands. And now you have 2 chargers so you can charge 2 batteries at once.

I use 18v Makita and Milwaukee at work, and at home I have Dewalt 18 & 20v, Ridgid 18v, as well as some older Ryobi 18v and Makita 18v. I don't throw things away... They all live peacefully together also.

Where can you get 12V DeWalt batteries for $6? I got one for $14, but it's an off brand (but works fine).

I lucked out, finding reduced ($24) batteries at a military Post Exchange wifh 75% off stickers on them. My local Exhange has a bunch reduced to $24, but no additional discount and all are 4+ years old.

I begrudgingly now have the 36" DeWalt upper tool box only 'cause it was cheap, and years ago I bought the DeWalt 12" miter saw (DW715 I think?) 'cause it was also cheap ($150 and it probably fell further after I purchased).

I can only say the DeWalt saw is a huge step up from the HF I was using. But I got the M18 10" sliding miter when Acme had it cheap around BF with a second 9.0. So I feel good that I have a red back-up for the yellow LOL

I do like their magnetic nut drivers too. And their red thin 14" abrasive blades are pretty good. edit: hmm, kinda ironic the DeWalt abrasive blades are red(dish) in color!

But that's it, everything else is red for me.

Found the same deal online, So I ordered the circ saw and 9.0 battery kit.

And a Fuel mid-torque impact.

And an M12 drill.
