Seeking feedback on Dewalt Tstak drawers tool storage

Hi folks, I'm currently working as an entry level auto tech (brakes, belts, etc.). I have been consistently getting side work offers from friends who need help on their cars during the weekends. I could really use the extra money and my friends have been really generous with pay. I am working out of the red harbor freight tool cart which fits the majority of my tools. I am looking for lightweight modular tool storage that I can load up easily for weekend projects, then bring back to work on monday. Using a random assortment of tool bags and boxes has been an organizational nightmare, and I have gone so far as to load load my tool cart onto a trailer for my last big project (engine swap and front axle build).

I have been looking at picking up an assortment of Dewalt Tstak drawer units and am wondering if they would be suitable for this purpose. I would be loading them up with wrenches, sockets, etc as well as an assortment of M18 impacts. Noone in my area stocks tstak units so I can't check them out in person. If they are suited to the task I may go so far as to work out of them all the time, replacing my service cart in order to save time reorganizing my tools.

I use the DeWalt T-stak system to organize the 100's of parts and blanks for my pen making. I really like the concept and the quality of the products. The containers with drawers have nice ball bearing slides and a positive lock when closed. I'll try to post up some pictures later of my set up, but I think they would work great for a portable tool box. I bought mine at Acme tool and through Amazon Prime. Look around for deals.

I also use the larger boxes for power tool storage. The nice thing is that you can hook a variety of units together for the job at hand.

Yes, the drawers are very smooth even when loaded up. The stacking will have no impact on drawer operation, the T-Staks are very rigid and the number of units in a stack has no impact on operation.

I have nearly every size them offer.

Very happy with them. I use some for task based stuff.. IE I have one deep one setup for plumbing stuff, another deep one holds alot of my bits and odd stuff.

One holds a 12v drill, another a jig saw. I wish Dewalt would sell the tools in them!! or at a minimum sell the inserts.

Thanks again for the feedback guys! Pulling the trigger on 4 2-drawers, 2 deep drawers, 1 flat top, one log handle, and the small cart. They will be showig up this in time for a project on the weekend. I'll update with some pics once I fill them out.

Nice! I think you'll like them. Here's my main stack that holds all my various pen components:

Not pictured are the two medium and one large case. I'll add a cart soon plus more two drawer boxes for small parts.
