I'm working on the lighting plan for my 30 x 15 (wood)shop and plan to go with a drop ceiling, so these look like they might be an option:

http://www.lithonia.com/commercial/led+troffers.html#.WPjoUuQm670

On the plus side:
They're available at Amazon (I have Prime, so "free" shipping).
I don't need dimming and these don't have dimming capability built-in.

I'm hoping someone will share their experience with these, good, bad, or indifferent. Similar unit suggestions are welcome as well.

The Visual Interior Tool http://www.visual-3d.com/tools/interior/
recommended 18 of the 2 x 4 units (4400 Lumens, 4k temperature) to meet my goal of 90 fc with a working surface height of 30".

I was a bit surprised at the number of units, but I'd rather have too much light (not getting any younger here) than too little, especially since I'll wire them in groups to allow finer control.

I ran the visual tool with those dimensions and it shows 12 fixtures. Not sure why the difference??? Maybe double check your inputs? Wall, ceiling and floor should be set at 80, 50, and 20. Be sure "settings" is on footcandles.
That fixture has been around for years in a fluorescent version. It's been adopted to the new LED system. Good quality, solid performer. Really good efficiency.
Good luck,
CD

CD: Thanks for double-checking my work; I must have fat-fingered something.
I re-ran the program and got the same (12 units) result as you did.
I appreciate the input on the units too.
