Well the Elroy realized this evening that he carriers a Proto with him all the time. Ya see Pops is an Electrical Engineer and sold Louis Allis for 30+ years. As you can see this was a sample from Cutler Hammer. This little offical Proto has been in Elroy's pocket from at least 1968 on.

I thought pops was a digital index operator at Spacely's Space Sprockets.

Here's one I picked up a month or so ago for 1.00 at the flea market. A Proto with Lindburg Cadillac Co. on the other side

It's now lives on my motorcycle key ring.

There's no problem carrying a key-type screwdriver tool through airports, as long as it is not sharpened. I do it all the time. In fact I carry an even larger Atwood tool (called a gasbaby) on my keyring and it sails right through.

Used to carry sharp pointed scissors of the legal length until I lost them. Those scissors were held together with a single screw. If the screw came undone you had two 6" knives. Go figure!

Not sure about entering a federal building, they are very aggressive with security.

They had the nerve to stop me at the airport for this!

Watch videos on link...WOW http://www.dillonaero.com/videos.html

Nice try but the "Pops" Elroy knows is his 86 year old father who most likely has no idea what a Spacely Sprock or Cogswell Cog is as back in the day he was too busy raising a family and paying taxes to watch TV.

He's slowed down just a little but anytime he's watching the tube now it's usually Lou Dobbs or Bloomberg Financial. Other times Dad is usually found with his nose in the Wall Street Journal if he's not outside pulling yard duty.

Elroy will ask his Pops if he has any idea who Spacely is and see what he says.

Bolster carries the same 'driver as Elroy. Although recently Bolster downgraded from a Proto to a Plomb. And on special days he upgrades to an Atwood tool.

I don't mean to be "sneaking in evolution," but here's a photo I took some time ago of the family tree...

FYI, at least some of the people bidding up these pocket 'drivers are the EDC crowd (=Every Day Carry), sort of like grown-up boy scouts who obsess about being prepared. I count myself as one of them.

i have one like the furthest left on my truck's keychain. Combs Automotive Co. on the back

I picked up a plain proto at an auction. It was in a box lot I didn;'t win but the lady sold it to me for a buck. I had helped her earlier that day cary some stuff to her van.
