I've got an old 230 volt bench grinder that I'm trying to place an age to and find out more about. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Is that the only tag on it? Better pics of that tag please? It looks, to me, like a 80's off shore job. :dunno:

Yes, that is the only tag. Here's a closer picture, but I can't promise it's much better.

I've been using it for the last few years with no issues, and it was attached to this giant work bench for years before that. The bench and grinder came with the building. I guess I'll treat it treat it nice and see how long it lasts. :p

This doesn't mean it's not quality though.

O yea, I was in no way trying to insult the OP's grinder, just providing the asked for info. The fact that it is 230v only is kinda surprising. Maybe it was designed for industrial applications? :dunno: Until recently I have been using a modern Craftsman china grinder. Worked find all these years. I'm sure the SELECT one is a few steps above that.

Karl, if there are no other tags, how do you know it is for 230v operation? :dunno:

I may or may not have a 80's Taiwan horizontal bandsaw that, after some tweaks, cuts amazingly well. But I'll never tell. ;) :ninja:

The switch reads "PULL.ON PUSH.OFF" and "230V/20A" but it's hard to make out any of it in the picture I took. I was trying to get the label and the shape of it. It's wired up with a 110 plug and it's been that way for quite some time from the look of it.

The rating on the switch is just that, a rating of the maximum voltage and current. It does not mean the motor is operating on 230V. If it has a 110V plug and that is what you have been plugging it into then it is a 110V motor.
