Obviously precision ground costs more (in this case, 2.5 times) but at the same time, I cannot find a replacement wrist pin (50's era Kellogg 331 compressor) for a reasonable price so I plan on reusing the old wrist pin. It has been running on a damaged full complement needle bearing for a while (a bit of radial play - ie, conrod wiggles) - the original spec called for a GB1616OH which is a precision ground 1616 bearing. Now my wrist pin is far from mint (bit of pitting and a tiny bit of wear), so I was thinking the precision ground component is kind of lost when installed.
