I have seen posts re: the self adjusting vice grips. Some have said Peterson Tools had invented them. Not true. My grandfather invented them in 1948 and received a patent on them Aug. 14, 1951 the patent # is 2,564,585. My cousin has the original prototypes that I hope to get and display with the paperwork. My grandfather also invented the ratchet wrench for tightening and loosening bicycle spokes in 1941 patent # 2,306,208. If Peterson Tool mfg. and sold the vice grips anytime in the first 17 years infringed on the patent and owe our family lots of money.
