In addition to the posting rules, the classifieds strictly follow it's own set of rules:
1) DO NOT BYPASS THE FORM FOR SUBMITTING AN AD! If you do bypass the form, your ad will be INSTANTLY deleted without warning. If the form does not show up for you, include the following information at the top of your ad:
What is your name? : <insert first AND LAST name here>
What is your email? : <insert valid email here>
What is your phone number? : <insert valid phone number here>
What is your City? :
What is your State? :
What is your Zipcode? :
2) When completing the form, you MUST include every piece of information, if a piece is missing, your thread will be deleted and you will get a PM. Again, your FULL name must be included, which means your first AND LAST name. If you do get a warning, make another post in the thread with the needed information and a moderator will edit your original post, since a regular member cannot edit their original post an hour after it was created.
3) You must also have your profile completely filled out, including the following in your profile:
- Name
- City, State, Zip Code
- Allow e-mail
- Allow private messaging
- Set Default Thread Subscription Mode to: Instant e-mail notification
Failure to have your profile completely filled out will result in your thread being deleted and you will get a PM.
4) THREAD TITLING: Please make a useful thread title. "Car for sale" tells us nothing, whereas "94 5sp TT, 85,000mi, $9k" lets people know if it's something they're interested in. Keep this in mind when titling your thread. Try to keep it simple but informative. In addition, certain punctuation will generate an error in the form. If you get an error other than insufficient privilege to post, remove punctuation from the title and try again.
5) Check your ad and PM's after posting, and also check it daily afterwards for any moderator notes in your ad. If you see a message in your ad to update information, do it immediately before your ad disappears.
6) Please do not bump your ad more than once every 7 days. If your ad falls off the top and you still have no interest from anybody, that means nobody is interested at the time, so don’t keep on bumping it to the top when nobody is interested. If somebody is looking for what you are selling, they will search for it and find it. In addition, it is common courtesy to allow other people to have the opportunity to have there ads on top or visible. Please be kind to the other members, and give them the same opportunity they gave you.
To avoid an infraction for excessive bumping, if you need your ad modified, notify a moderator with the appropriate information and your ad will be revised. This will be handled on a case-by-case basis where abuse will get your ad deleted.
7) If you repost your ad after it has been deleted and still have yet to comply with the rules, your ad will be instantly deleted, and you will be PM’ed by a moderator. If you continue to post ads without complying with the rules, you will be banned after review.
8) Do not just post a link to an eBay ad, AutoTrader ad, Craigslist ad, ect. Take the time to create an ad to show that you are willing to sell. If you just post a link to another site, your ad will be instantly deleted and you will be notified via PM.
9) Selling on behalf of someone else is NOT ALLOWED. These ads will be deleted with out warning. Please inform your interested party to feel free to join the forum and make their own ads. This is mainly to make sure that buyers and sellers are dealing directly with each other without a 3rd party and so that there are no issues with contact info and liability concerns at all. It's better to be safe than sorry.
10) NO unauthorized group buys/feelers for group buys/testing the waters for group buys. Regardless of whether you're making any money on it, all group buys/feelers for group buys/testing the waters for group buys, must be approved by Owners. Unauthorized ads will be instantly deleted, and repeated attempts may result in a banning upon review. Information regarding Group Buy cost can be found here:
11) Due to the constant problems and issues with ad killing, members can no longer publicly reply to ads in the 'For Sale' section. The only ones that can post on threads in the 'For Sale' section are the original thread starters, forum moderators/admins, and site sponsors. If you wish to respond to a listing in this section, please PM the seller directly or email them. This will eliminate the ad killing, post whoring, and flaming problem in this section. If you have any questions about this policy, feel free to contact a moderator.
12) A price is required for all items that are for sale. "OBO" may be placed after your sale price, but "make offer", or "testing the waters" or simply "OBO" is not allowed. Ads without a price will be removed.
13) Absolutely NO FIREARMS are to be listed for sale on this site, or anything else that could be legally questionable!!
14) Due to side businesses being run by members and using the site to sell cars being parted-out, anyone that parts more than two (2) cars per year will be considered a business. Unless approved by the admins of this site ads will be removed without warning or notice. Re-posting of an ad without approval and classified privileges will be removed.
