After compacting the gravel I had to come up with a system, to get the compactor back on the transportation. It was 200 kg compactor - at the end of the day the basefloor is feeling solid. Now I am ready for the rebar followed by concrete .... probably no fast progress in this week, due to the celebrations of the middle of the summer + a victory day of the battle from the history (national holiday).

Time to report some changes for the guys who are interested.

Got the outside electricity done. Just installed two outlets - one for christmas lights to the top left side and one for cars engine heaters to the bottom right side. At the same time installed two lamps with automatic lightsensor switch - they turn on automatically from evening to midnight and then turn off. At the morning they turn on automatically until there is enough daylight to swich them off again.

Yesterday also got the door. Sadly they did not finished the mounting in one day due to the reason the contractor had taken wrong tension springs from the warehouse. So ...when they come back to the vicinity to do some other jobs they stop by again and will finish the mounting. Right now also door motor is not installed and it is not usable door yet ....

And basically thats it for this year. Due to the upcoming winter there will be no big changes for this thread anymore. Next improvments will start with next spring, when the main effort will go to interior - ceiling, lamps, painting and building some cabinets. Until that time I will keep motivation by looking some great color and cabinets solutions from this forum.

Excellent!
You have done a lot of very good work and now you get to enjoy the warm and dry interior.

You have really accomplished a lot and much of it by yourself. Self reliant people like you are my heroes. They don't sit around and dream about things they can not afford. They get up off of their butts and make their dreams come true.

I am a bit surprised you will not be working inside your garage this winter. A little heat and some warm clothing should make your garage a comfortable place to do car maintenance, wire up lights and outlets, etc.

Hello again

Thanks guys for the support. I`ll forvard the supportive comments to the guys you see on pictures.

The Project will go to stand mainly due to the reason I have to travel a lot during the winter. As I can predict from the previous years, the next open period to carry on with the interior will appear at the end of May.

Until that time it will be mainly planning. Right now Im thinking to go with two color pattern - lower portion darker gray (gunmetal gray) and upper part with light gray or white. Still not sure weather to make red stipe between the greys or not.

Nice build. We will be visiting Tallainn Estonia next year on a Viking cruise.

Welcome to Estonia. Hopefully you enyoi the time here. In Tallinn you will see some good exaples of medieval city. By visiting the capital you must stay openminded to make difference between true Estonian heritage and tourist traps. Pitty if you don`t have a time to travel to South to Tartu or to the westcoast To Pärnu.

If you had more time here, I would suggest to vist a good hot saunas with nice cold beer  - found in many spas around the country.

Greetings again at 2017.

After long pause of progress it seems that some more work will be done at this year. Main goal would be to finish interior in order to start building cabinets during colder periood and get some opportunities to put the stuff out of sight.

The prep work started with some cement blaster. Not much to do but just fill the holes from previous screws.

After 24h of setting I just wiped off the extras with leather glow and some metal tool ... point was just not to grind those hole too neat and to blend them in with surrounding wall. Hopefully they are not visible after the paint.

Yesterday I got 9 liters of white exterior paint (for bricks and mineral plasters) and today I made a first coat. As expected I ran out of paint, but it was just neccesary to get the overview of consumption. It is needed to bring more at least 18 liters for finishing first coat and make second one. I am expecting that at second coat, the blocks are not absorbing so much so 18 more should be just on the line. Will give an update when it´s done.

Altough at the beginning of the work there were many regulations about fire safety, it appeared that the rulez are changed and it is not mandatory anymore to make a garage as separate fire zone. That made my build lot easier. I skipped modifications to the left wall (it is polyested insulation) and will go easier with the ceiling. Plan is to cover the ceiling with white metal sheeting. Probably will be done somewhere at the end of the August.

And the work on progress ... I got a little helper who also helped to line up the tape. I tought that bringing out the laser would be overkill for garage ... so by the eyes and mutual cooperation with my daughter, I attached the tape by our eyes.

And of course after the paint the tape needs to come off. End result ....

Just read the whole thread. Great vision and implementation - I think the end product is looking great so far!
