Self Powered Ignition Timing Light

I'm looking for recommendations on a self powered timing light. I own a car that has the battery located in the front trunk under a spare tire and the engine in the rear making the use of a standard timing light difficult.

Anyone have experience with these?

it does not have an alternator or some other sort of charging system on the engine? it must at least have power at the starter.

My car does not have a battery, starter, alternator, etc so I have used a self powered one for years. This is the one I have now.

The self-powered lights I've used are so dim they aren't usable even in normal commercial garage lighting, much less outdoors.

Look around under the hood. There are usually at least two or three accessible battery voltage terminals.

The starter is under the exahust manifold and requires jacking the car up to get to and the alternator is the same except under the intake manifold.

I suppose I could always just hook the timing light up to a spare battery I have sitting around...

bingo, or do a one time thing and hook a wire up to the alternator and keep it on there for future use just keep a good insulated wire nut on it when you aren't using it
