I'm looking at getting self stick 4" vinyl wall base to finish off my walls in the shop. I need 182' so I've been looking at this 200' roll of black 4".

My walls are good one side sanded birch plywood that has been stained.

Will this stuff stick to the wood? For me here the self stick is the same price as the regular base plus all the glue. I'd rather not have to glue 182' on if the self stick would work.

Thanks.

In my experience it doesn’t hold up as well all the code base plus the adhesive. It’ll peel off on its own.

Never really gets hard, just always stays tacky until it gets dusty then it’s useless.

I was wondering about that. I looked at home depots version in store and the layer of sticky adhesive was very thin, it didn't look very impressive. I would assume Amazon's would be even worse.

I’ve run allot of vinyl base, all glue down with the actual vinyl base adhesive (self adhesive is poor quality). Use the tip below for base adhesive. It goes fast once started, base adhesive is water based and cleans with soap and water. Run your hand or a roller along it with even moderate pressure.
