selling HF Coupons on Ebay???

I don't get it.Why would anybody pay $29.99 for a Harbor Freight Coupon?
I could get a magazine subscription or two that have HF coupons in them for alot less.Or I could sign up at HF and let them send me the coupons for free.

I've seen them for a couple of bucks but not 30! But I've seen pages cut from a magazine listed for a few cents plus a buck for "shipping and handling." AFAIK, a page from a magazine could be mailed as media for even less that 1st Class postage. So if people are actually buying pages from mags that's a possible dollar profit per sale.

I see not-so-vintage matchbooks selling for 1-3 bucks plus a couple bucks shipping?

I've seen the HF coupons on flea-bay and for the most part they have prices in the ads. Haven't seen the $30 deal, but I have seen lots of coupons for $5.00, especially for the coupon for the big 12.5K Badlands winch.

Every Wednesday, I get a package of junk mail and there is always a HF flyer. Right now there is a 25% off coupon going around and many that I see have expiration dates into May. Every magazine I get has HF coupons too.

But like other HF coupons, they aren't good on already discounted items or certain items.

But speaking of vending machines, about two years ago I saw a BEST BUY vending machine (this thing was easily 10 feet wide) in the DFW airport that sold iPods, IPhones, and even the $3000 MacBook Pro laptops!

I didn't know vending machines like this even existed! I can't imagine swiping your card for that much cash and the chance of having the laptop get stuck, all while your trying to make a connect flight!

Then you go to prison for trying to rock the laptop loose in a machine that has $50K worth of electronics inside.

Yeah, they can't read very well either.

Also, you can't claim that the price of the coupon is based on the value of the labor involved in clipping the coupons instead of the coupons themselves. Under eBay rules, the coupons themselves are the items being sold.

They are in most airports these days. I guess they sell a few of the items in them, mostly chargers and headsets I would bet. When it comes to iCrap people are stupid and will pay stupid money for the real thing, rather than buy a generic iCharger from a convenience store for 1/3 or less.

SWMBO buys coupons in bulk from ebay for household items, usually $1-5 gets her ~$100 off on items we use constantly, it saves money and lets us replenish the "needs" like cleaning supplies locally in bulk cheaply. Between that and free shipping from Amazon, shes got the system on lock!

Thanks for the link. You're right, they do allow the sale of coupons. But by the very guidelines listed, these sales listed are in violation of the Ebay policy and subject to removal.

So in the end, these are still a scam.
