I have an over abundance of Snap On tools that I will never need. I would like to sell them, and I have no problem piecing them out, however, I just don't know how to price them. Most are used, are not marked, nor are they shelf worn. Can you give me a general idea of how to determine the value? :headscrat
thanks

From what I have seen on this forum and even on ebay you will probably get about 1/2 of retail for them. UNLESS they have some kind of vintage or rare value.

I'd look the individual tool up on the Snap On site, provide a picture and link here and say the price is $***.**. You can always edit the price later.

Two ways to find a price. Start high and lower every so often until it sells. Start low and take the best bid over some period of time.

Fully describe each tool with pictures.

Sell it here, and skip ebay issues and fees, but smaller number of buyers less likely to pay a premium for anything but very rare items.

If you sell on ebay, start by buying and selling cheap items until you have at least 100 feedback that is 100% positive.

Really depends on condition and how popular it is though. Really popular items can easily fetch 75% or even over over 100% of MSRP on ebay. Fancier ratchets seem to do really well, as do the instinct screwdrivers, angle wrenches, dead blows [that arent ruined] just to name just a few.

This is a good place for strong sellers and common items largely because you avoid the 15% ebay fee but for everything else you cant beat an ebay auction format set for 10 days ending on a saturday or sunday evening.

50% of list is a good rule of thumb for used Snap on in decent condition. It'll vary somewhat depending on how desirable the tools are. And metric is generally worth more than SAE.

If you want to look into prices more closely search completed listings on ebay. Only pay attention to the prices in green. The red ones didn't sell.
