Today i was talking to my best friends mom about a car problem and we got to discussing her parents estate. Long story short i bought her fathers tool collection (what was left of it anyway), he passed in 95 and it has been sitting in their basement ever since so nothing is newer the 80's i dont know for sure when he retired. There is a ton of old stuff it ranges from pliers, wrenches, sockets, to taps, EZ-outs, drills and tons of punches/chisels. The brands include everything from snap-on, craftsman, plomb, proto, bonney, SK, cornwell, etc. There are 1/4, 3/8 and a mix match 1/2 drive set that ranges from 3/8 - 1 1/4, as well as 3/4 drive stuff. None of this is really a 'set' from one mfg but most if not all sizes are covered. It also came with a cool old snap-on box with a removable face in great shape and a bunch on tin cases with more random tools and such.
So here's my question is it best to try and sell off what i dont want by just setting a fixed price for each kind of tool, like 1/4 3/8 and 1/2 drive sockets, wrenches, punches, pliers, etc and let people choose from the pics or should i bundle the brand names and try the best i can to make sets like the proto 1/2 drive sockets, snap on wrenches, craftsman sockets? THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE AD, that will follow as time allows me to sort and organize this stuff. Basically i filled half of a pickup bed with this stuff and the main goal for the day was to load it up and move it to my garage.
I included a few pics that will touch on the surface of what i'm dealing with, thanks in advance, TC...
