Thanks, I know gearwrench had full broach but made in Taiwan. It's starting to look like the only option though, I know the old school cman were full broach, I dont know if they offered mid length. Doesnt matter today though I guess

I sold off a set of mid length Snap-on because of the shallow broach and replaced with Gearwrench. They're good sockets.

Good to now know Carlyle is offering them too.

Trying to find info on the actual depth of the broach on Gearwrench semi-deep in 3/8" drive. Anyone know where to find measurements on the net? The GW site does not have that measurement , pretty much everything but. Or maybe someone could measure a socket? Say a 9/16"

Actually Gearwrench has the information on their site. You just have to open the catalog up, scroll to page 135, whee you'll find a breakdown on sae mid length socket demensions. I t looks like the 9/16 socket is 1.81 inches long overall with the broach being .83 inch deep. :dunno:

I've only got 3/8" semi deeps in metric, but could happily do 1/4" ones in SAE or metric if you're interested. A comparable 14mm socket measures 46mm tall and the broach is about 22mm down from the top/outer lip of the socket.

Aaah, yes, OK. It is there. That's what I looked at before, but for some reason the generic drawing shape and the term "wrench depth" was making me think it was a different measurement.

Thanks,

Seth
