I've been lurking around here for a little while and have made a couple of posts already, but figured I'd make an intro. The wife and I moved a few months ago to a new house. I grew up on a farm so I'm used to acreage and big buildings for big equipment, but moved to a 1+acre lot with a 22x22 garage. I've found a lot of ideas that I can't afford and don't have the time to try, but it's been fun seeing what you guys have come up with. The plan is to eventually build a shop in the back yard to hold my woodworking tools that are still on the farm and big enough to do a little auto work if/when the mood strikes me. For now, I'll keep lurking and probably end up posting the usual "newbie' questions that the regulars are sick of reading.

Welcome! We used to live in Youngsville about 8yrs ago, and went to Louisburg fairly often. That area has GROWN like crazy since we left. We weren't from there, but it was a pretty decent area. It used to be uber-rural not that long ago.

You'll enjoy this...

Welcome aboard!

My displaced northerner Son and his displaced northerner fiance live down in Johnston County (Clayton). Beautiful countryside y'all have down there.

....now what's up with your hot dogs being red?

Thanks for all the welcomes. We're both actually from the area, but are living in a slightly different part now. We're from Nash county and now live in Franklin. Louisburg has grown a lot in the past few years. In fact, a new Super Wal-Mart just opened. You know you come from hickville when you judge economic growth by the opening of a Wal-Mart, but in this case, it works.

And a lot of locals will ship red hot dogs to friends and family that have moved away. Why would you want to eat anything else?

Gotta admit...... them red dogs are stinkin tasty!

We went to the state fair last time down to Raleigh. One of my Daughter's bellied up the 50 cents to get me into the "Down Syndrome Cow" freak show. That was cool.

Got pictures on my cell phone. Just don't know how to down load them onto this here computer thingy.

I thought Maine was the only place with red dogs

^^^^^^ I had NEVER seen them things before.

Sammerdog junior said "...ya gotta try one of these...."

Dangnabitall, the things are great!!!

Got back up here to Michigan and never saw one again until I went down to the Mexican grocery store off 28th street - they had 'em. Things were labeled "Kuntry Kookins". Mis-spellings and all. Tempted to grab a package, but the grocery store was one of the few places around town with dirt floors.

Yeah..... the place has a dirt floor.

I grabbed the Glad-Wrap shrunk wrapped tortillas, a package of poontons for my bride and got out of there.
