I think that there should be a separate "general discussion" or off-topic category. I know that Free Parking technically allows for this, but there seems to be a lot of threads that are a bit too far fetched for such a category.
The main reason for this suggestion is because I think the "introduction" section should be moved out. If you take a look, most of the intro threads have 0-2 posts, and that's probably due to its low visibility. Currently it's a subcategory in the garage forum, and so it doesn't get a lot of traffic.
Create a general off-topic category, move the intros to there, and a lot of low traffic threads will get noticed more.
