Has anyone installed a seperate septic tank and drain field for their garage? I may have trouble getting a drain pipe to my existing house septic tank. It is 160 feet away and the house is in the way. House's drain pipe is under that slab, very difficult to tie into.

After looking at the drain pipe slope, I will just be able to get 1/8" per foot slope. I am thinking of just putting a seperate 300 gallon septic tank and small drain field in for the garage. My garage will just have a toilet and sink for washing my hands, so the daily water use will probably be less than 40 gallons. (that is a lot of 1.5 gallon flushes)

Thanks

Yes I have installed one form my shop as hooking it to the house system was not an option for me. Check the link at the bottom for some pictures ( the install is about 67 posts in the thread below)

I did an additional tank also, there was some county restrictions on how close it could be to the first one but mine is closer than your 167 feet so you shouldn't have any difficulty there. if you use atleast 4" pipe the slope is 1/8 per foot I believe. 3" you might have issues with the inspector on. atleast thats what I found here in the southwest..
