I have a Hiblow HP80 Aerator pump that I rebuilt about a year/year an a half ago. It's chewing up the diaphragms. Do these things need to have some sort of lubrication to keep them supple..............Actually as I was typing this, It just popped in my head that we have fire ants here........................No, That can't be it. The pump runs 24/7. Them ants are bad, But I don't think they could hang on to the thingie and ride it out while eating my diaphragms.

Maybe this is just a POS pump. Any thoughts?

I have no experience with the pump but are you using factory diaphragms or cheap subs?
Is the stroke adjustable? Did you change it in the rebuild?
When you install the new one do you torque it down at mid or end of stroke?
How often is often?
Did you read the install instructions?
I used to change my pond aeration every fall or it never made spring and would freeze off.

So I just googled it and some things may not apply but you have been in there.
