Trying logging off, clearing your cookies and temp internet files, and then logging back on.

I’ve logged off, cleared cookies, ran CCcleaner, etc. still all bold each time I’m here.

Same here. I've done the exact same things with no resolution.
I have this problem, but only with some threads in my usercp. they show as unread even though i've clicked through a few times.

I am experiencing that too. ( the new posts issue) plus when I post in a thread it disappears . only way to see it again is to go to todays posts

Cobbler, I think you are having some kind of a cookie issue. You logged out, cleared your cookies and temp internet files, and then logged back in - right? Because you just posted using an old cookie.
I did log out, not cleared cookies for a week or so. let me try that
cleared cookies, re booted. no change.
new posts page shows 499

so the new posts search seems to bring up the max number of most recent posts allowed (499), and shows them in bold. any thread that I read or contribute to disappears instead of being unbolded. they do show up in my sub'd folder or in todays posts

Man... You have some bizarre issues going on. I can't explain it... Especially since you are the only one having em like that... at least that I know... I'll keep hunting.
For most users, "mark forums as read" should be fixed now.

- Posts disappear after you post to them.
- Threads disappear after you read them.
- "new posts" bringing the max number allowed and not showing actual new posts.

Have you guys tried using a different browser? I'm not passing the buck, I'm just wondering as it would be educational for me.

Same here...sort of. I get notifications for individual threads, but no email notifications for new posts for the forums I am subscribed to.
This started immediately after the upgrade.

I've figured this one out. I think a number of ISPs have blocked my because they suddenly started getting thousands of emails from an IP they didn't recognize. My IP address changed... So, I should be able to get that fixed pretty soon.

We have a few Aussies over on the HAMB having access issues with the GJ.
Verified email address and not in Spam folder.
For S&G's I went to my subscribed threads and selected all my subscriptions, chose 'Daily' updated and refreshed them:

Sho 'nuff, had to search posts by me to find this thread, it is no longer among the 498 listed 'new posts'.

and the thread is also gone from my mobile droid/chrome. I doubt it's cookies, because the 2 devices aren't linked in any way. Has to be in the account handling side.
Also threads I read are gone from the list.

Wait. You guys realize that if you read it, it shouldn’t be on the new posts page at all. Right?
So you load new posts and then read one of them. When you reload new posts again, that post should be gone.
it used to be that once a post/thread was read, it would still show in the new posts , but it would show as unbolded, as opposed to bolded for unread post.

You should run your IP address through here: http://multirbl.valli.org/
and see what black lists you are on. Each one often requires individual attention, but it is worth getting a clean slate there.

Yeah, my ip is too fresh to be listed. It's getting blocked internally by ISPs. It shouldn't be long before I'm on that list though...

My older iPad cannot access the site, though it has before w/no issues. At the moment, I'm on a PC & no issues here, I forget the exact msg I was getting when I couldn't access GJ on the iPad. I don't have issues going to other sites using the iPad.

I log in every day. Today my "go to first last post" button would take me to day 2/5 about half the time. The other half would take to yesterday or today. All threads are still in bold. Just trying to give you as much info as possible. If read or after a log in date would not be in bold as i log in every day.

Will the new software affect link structure? Specifically, will the current URL structure of "/forum/showthread.php?t=12345" be altered, so all pre-software-change links would become invalid?

No I will redirect all of those links (there are millions) to right page on the new format... That won't be a problem.

Right now, you can't search for PEX, PVC, OSB, PVA, TSB, OEM, the list goes on and on.

In the past... If I viewed my "subscription" page... and didn't click on a thread... it went from highlighted to "appeared it was read"... If I left the page.
NOW... IT's FIXED... with whatever you did... it remembers the threads I have not looked at yet and they STAY highlighted until I look at them.
