Are the automated emails re: threads updated supposed to be coming WAY earlier? Mine are sowing up at 16:00 PST. Used to be at 21:00 PST

Also, does not look like they are all coming in.

I'll ditto this. I have three forum I subscribe too, and always received the daily email at 11:00pm Central. Since the updates, I've only been receiving one email, and it arrives at 6pm Central.

I just checked, and am still subscribed to all three forum.

Here you can see my GMail folder, with the Garage Journal updates. Note that up to the 9th, I was receiving three emails a day, one from each subscribed forum. Starting on the 10th, I only get one.

Yeah, I'm still getting a ton of my emails blocked. You could complain to your email service provider. That might speeds things up a bit.

Another thing I noticed is the visitors to my profile page haven’t changed.

No way the same guy’s been stalking me for this long.

Btw, if I click on a profile, 99% chance it was an accident.

I just posted in the Classifieds.

I tried to upload 6 photos at once and received a security token error.

I tried again and was able to upload two images at a time.

Minor inconvenience; just passing it along.

I'll be posting another item after this one sells. I'll post back here if it happens again.

I'm using GMail. Complain to Google? Ha!

But would blocking explain why I get some but not all? I would think if you were blocked I wouldn't get *any*?

No I didnt see your name but there were all new names. Maybe they bumped yours off as it only shows so many.

I can't login to Garage Journal with Tapatalk on my tablet since the upgrade. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Tapatalk, but I am still unable to login. It works great on my phone, just not the tablet. Also, I get a popup message saying there is a network error when I try to view the forums.

I tried unsubscribing to the two that weren't sending update emails, waited a full 24 hours, re-subscribed. I'm still not getting daily updates.

Have you tried checking/changing the notification type from the "List Subscriptions" page in the User Control Panel?

Have you tried to log out then start a fresh ?

I can't logout, it won't let me login. . I can use the website through Chrome on my tablet and it works fine (using it now). I cleared all data from Tapatalk and reinstalled. Nothing I've done to this point has worked. I wasn't sure if the server upgrade may have migrated away from older Android software.

EDIT: Just tried again and it says "Network Error: Please try again later" I tried viewing as a guest, when I click on the forums, nothing displays. It doesn't show the main topics or any sub-topics. Other forums are still working, just not this one. I did notice something weird though, it shows I have new activity on the topics I'm subscribed to, but won't allow me to view it.

Ditto.

Since the upgrade, I haven't been able to log in via Tapatalk, which is my primary means of accessing GJ. I've tried reinstalling as well as tried creating a new account. Tapatalk can not communicate with your authentication server, but it works fine with the other forums I belong to.

IF you guys are using the same wifi router when you have problems, you might try unplugging that wifi router for like 30 seconds... and then plugging it back in. We had one guy that couldn't get the site to load at all until he flushed his wifi router.

Point is, the servers are running. Tapatalk is working. At some point, you guys are still caching the old site and that why it's failing.

wont help on phones but you could do an dns flush on your pc and it may help too

open a cmd prompt as administrator and type

ipconfig /flushdns

press enter

MIGHT help. Helps me when I change servers on things. DNS is what tells a PC or any internet device how to translate and IP address to a hostname like garagejournal.com

If GJ moves servers, and IP addresses, the DNS IS SUPPOSED to refresh, and your ISP and router are SUPPOSED to refresh too, but sometimes they get stuck.

I'm not sure what it is. I have connected my tablet through the wifi hotspot on my phone, reset my router, installed an older version of Tapatalk and reset my tablet to factory and I still can't login with my tablet. If my phone is connected to the same router, it works fine. Here's a screenshot of the message I get when I try to login.

I don't want you to think I'm ungrateful for the Forum. I spend way too much time on this forum (according SWMBO). I have learned lots of useful information from the other users. One of these days I'm gonna start a thread over my garage (not sure anyone would want to see it in it's current state).

I see that you are using an android tablet. Make sure you have the latest tapatalk installed.

go to settings>apps>find tapatalk>force stop and clear data

then relaunch app and try to login

As much as I hated to do it, I reset my tablet and wiped all information on it. After reinstalling Tapatalk, I still have the same issue. The only thing I haven't done is upgrade the tablet to Lollipop (too many performance issues).

I, too went into my app settings, cleared data and cache, then relogged into Tapatalk (no issue there). When I tried logging back into GJ via Tapatalk, it did nothing - as in, no errors, etc. It does the same thing when I try creating a new account on GJ via Tapatalk - nothing at all.

I think someone hit the nail on the head when mentioning DNS tables. I don't know whose network my provider uses, but I suspect their DNS server hasn't updated with your new IP address. It's the only thing that makes sense, though I have no idea how to fix the issue.

Thing is I don't think I have ever, ever, ever seen it take longer then 5 days for an ISP to update DNS though, stranger things have happened I guess....

One good reason to turn off the Wi-Fi when you are not using it as it will reset when you turn it on again.

The Sprint cellular network only updates their DNS cache every 2 weeks. Nuts.

that's crazy. usually in my experience cell phones are quicker then landbased isp's, like verizon, i know on my phone dns changes on my sites go real fast.

I usually edit the hosts file on my PC to hardwire the IP's to the names

That's for thread subscriptions. My issue is Forum Subscriptions. Only one of three forum I subscribe to is sending me daily notices.

This probably due to all the black lists we got on when we changed servers... A fresh IP address sending thousands of emails a day looks like spam to these folks. We are slowly getting off of them... Today, in fact, we finally got off of spamhaus... and that will help a ton.

Yeah, the email for subscribed threads is still hokey. I will sometimes get an email on one or two (out of a bunch) and sometimes not. Not always the same one.

I was going to try unsubscribing and re-subscribing but apparently that did not work for astrohip, so I don't know anymore.

Like I said earlier - we are sending the email. It's just that we are on a lot of blacklists and probationary periods since the server change. It just takes time for ISPs and email servers to re-gain trust in the emails we send. There's not much I can do other than continue to send in whitelist requests... Which we are doing like made.

Today I tried accessing GJ through Tapatalk and recieved this message:

"Garage Journal is currently unavailable in Tapatalk. However, you can continue to interact with other users in this chat/blog". It then links tje Tapatalk chat room for GJ members (which I don't use).
It would appear that GJ is either banned pr unreachable via Tapatalk - which is frustrating for those of us without a pc.

I don't know what can be done about it, but I wanted to bring it to your attention.
