The "new" code requires a disconnect outside the house for the dwelling so the fire department can shut it off. They don't care about your garage. You will.I'm just hoping I don't have to put in a second CB outside the house for the main house when I upgrade the house to 320A. I get mixed opinions on that as to weather or not the house will be grand fathered. I have a feeling I'm going to need a second CB.

Actually, I don't. Maybe it's in the DM amendments, but that's what our limit is. Apparently, I wrongly thought it was NEC. DM is the only place I've ever worked where it was even a consideration to go more than 25'.You got a code reference for that?
