I couldn't resist, $1 at an estate sale. Problem is..... I have no idea what it's used for. Google hasn't been my friend either. I have found a few on ebay but no description as to its use. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It’s got fractal style jaws so designed to clam irregular objects. Pretty cool, but looks to be very cheaply made.

Fractal was the key word I needed. Thank you. And yes, made in Taiwan and I have found a couple things that need fixing on it
