New to the forum. I moved from the sticker patch in the back yard to a 19x29 shop. I've got a lot of my stuff in place and am still organizing but I'd appreciate any advice. What are some things you originally wished you did when getting your work area set up? All my tools are organized in my toolbox and on pegboard. At the moment I'm installing 4 foot lights because it's so dark. Keep in mind i park a crew cab dually in this shop so I have to work around that most of the time.

I tried to setup stationary machines (heavy, harder to move) and workbenches first. I actually did lighting upgrades last, after I had the main layout solidified. There was a basic grid of incandescent (now CFL) fixtures overhead, I augumented with T8 and T5HO light fixtures.

With that size, I'd keep the area in front of the truck as clear as possible. Before you put much in the shop, pull the truck and organize around it to give the most room. My shop is 24'x24' and a club cab short box is about the longest that fits comfortably. My bay is about 13' wide. So by the time you add two feet for the the gray cabniet on the left and 30" for the depth my tool box I'm just under your width to work with.
