Setting up Shop
Hello every one, need your help and suggestions on setting up new shop. Will be used for playing with muscle cars. Just ordered from Steel Master a 24 x 20 unit, it looks like the picture i've attached. Need help in lighting, how much, where to buy (cheep) What kind of a sealer to use on the cement pad, any one have any experience with this type of building? How does one attach shelfs? cabinets, etc, any other ideas.

Sealing the pad? Short of epoxy, just go down and get a few gallons of concrete sealer, pour it on, spread it out, and let it dry. There are a few different types you can get....One of them gives you the 'wet' look. I wouldn't advise that one...it can become a little slippery.

Lights? Most guys seem to say use the 8' fixtures that use 4 T8 bulbs. Just hang them from the ceiling. I would suggest 6 fixtures total, 3 across, 1 set in the front, one in the rear using 2 different circuts. That way you can turn on either the front, rear or both.

Hanging shelves? With that type of building, I suspect it could be a problem. Someone else with experience with it will have to chime in.

One last thing....without knowing where you are (translation, put your location in your profile), I would suspect that building could be real hot or real cold. Might need to look at ventilation.
