Hi guys, this is my first post. I've been a lurker for many years and appreciate the wisdom and experience found here..
My lift, a 10,000 Symmetrical clear floor (L1100) is coming this week. My Lift has to be offset from my 14' wide door because of a center support post. My shop is 30' wide. I'm planning on mounting the left post 3' from the left wall. I have a total of 40' of depth. My center support post is centered at 15' and back 22' in from the overhead door.
I was planning on locating the posts 11'6" from the back wall... but my friend came upon an idea I'm exploring: Situating the lift so you back onto it.
The logic is that the steering wheels can negotiate the 'swing' of the nose of the vehicles better backing on.
Either way, you have to back the vehicle sometime, either on or off.
My smallest vehicle is a Myers Manx clone Dune Buggy. My biggest an extended cab long bed SuperDuty.
What are your thoughts?
