I had not seen this before, so I'm passing on the info. I know that its not easy to find anything on Sams website, so I snapped a pic:

No offense, but aren't those cheap big box store "work centers" a dime a dozen? Is there something that sets the Seville apart?

I really am not meaning to be a smartass, just wondering whats up with it.

I would say build your own. I could build something allot better for half the price in material. Plus its fun building and designing a work bench. Just don't get carried away because it just gets out of hand.

The unit I have is very high quality. It has a 300 lb lathe on it and probably 300 more lbs of equipment stored in it. Big steel frame, stainless door fronts, etc. Nice stuff. Their benches are super heavy duty.

Note - these come in a flat box and there are a billion fasteners LOL. About 3-4 hours to assemble.

It's somebody elses floor now. Ya, it was a big one too. Left 10' of shop dropped about 1 1/2" from crack to wall plate.

Costco has something similar but it is in black. I dont know if the maker is Seville...it may be. The top is a nice maple finish. It is quite deep too, at least 20 inches. It has cabinets on the top and pegboard, all metal. Looks damn sturdy. I would think about it but have a gladiator set-up already. However I dont think it has lighting. Worth checking out and comparing the two.

Some people just dont want to make their own (like me...). They like the metal finish.

I can only report that these Seville units are very high quality.

I was considering building my own bench and looked pretty closely at the Seville stuff. The price was almost the same as my materials alone. I bought a bench, tool chest, two cabinets and a trash can. I found them incredibly well constructed, very well packed, and very straight-forward to assemble. You have to assemble everything, but it's very well documented and everything is there. They even provide special wrenches to get to some of the hard-to-reach nuts.

The bench top is very solid and very heavy. I can't compliment this stuff enough. For the price I think it's the best our there from what I've seen.

I picked two up myself. Its almost like sams is treating it as a seasonal item, they said they wouldnt be getting anymore in stock anytime soon. The website showed they were out of stock, but the "in club" price was shown as $81, so i called and asked if they had any in stock and they said they did. Wiggum, thanks a bunch for pointing this price out. These are a steal at $81. You would think just the material alone are worth that much

Ill try to post some pics when I get these together this weekend or next

Still $194 listed as online and in club. I may stop by tomorrow and check it out. one of my projects this month is a garage overhaul and a swapping my 18' long cluttered workbench with a smaller, more organized bench that hopefully I'll have to keep clean to have enough room to work.

It's still regular price at my local Sam's as of this afternoon.

Not really interested in this piece, but I want some of the other Seville stuff. Anybody know if they are marking anything else down?

I purchased a Seville workbench with the maple table top for my nephew a few weeks ago. Good luck in building it yourself for less. The top alone is probably worth $200.00 alone.

Although they're products are not for me, they make decent light purpose products IMO.

I have one from Lowes that is similar, has four drawers and lights that I paid $120 for on sale.

It works fine for the price.

Jim

While the price is a bit lower, the quality difference is great. Compare the solid wood top on the Seville with the thin particle board on the Lowe's products. Ditto with the gauge of steel.
