Seville Classics Workbench/Cabinets review....

I recently decided on the garage setup I wanted, and after triple checking every decision.... I picked them up last weekend.

First the workbench. I bought 2, they are solid as a rock and as all other reviews say, they take about 4 hours each to put together. Like other reviews I think the maple is a little soft, but this is a RUGGED workbench. 300+ screws and one solid piece of equipment.

Next was the cabinets. I wanted them to be mounted together to form a seamless appearance, so I had to drill my own holes.

First is the boxes...... 6 on the main wall, 2 on the side.

Second was laying out all the parts. I needed to drill all but 2 left and right side panels to mount correctly....

Next was marking and drilling. I picked up the template at Woodcraft about a year ago when I was installing kitchen cabinet knobs.... I never thought i'd use it again, but it did great.

The I had to mount all the brackets. This was a challenge, I was installing into concrete (which I hadn't done before, and had to source a hammer drill and bits....) and had to make sure they were all completely level. If they aren't spot on, the cabinets wouldn't mount together correctly. This honestly took the best part of 4 hours.... but I'm a measure 4-5x and drill 1x kind of a guy. 12 brackets total.

The put them up, put the trash can in place, and line up the cabinets.

Everything is about 12 feet long, and lines up as planned..... very excited to have it all done.

Next, floor and lighting....

As for the seville parts.... do not hesitate to jump on them. Quality is remarkable for a made in china assemble setup, I'm very happy.

Lookin good! I just put up 4 overhead cabinets and 2 workbenches myself! I would agree - excellent value. I'm also bolting them together for a more seamless install :) thanks for sharing.

Looks great! Nice and even. I bought 3 of the cabinets last year. They were advertised at $58.00 shipped I believe. I should have bought more, but ran out of room.

"but I'm a measure 4-5x and drill 1x kind of a guy"

lol, me too, and I still don't get it right sometimes.

VERY nice install BTW, I've been planning to get some of these and your review convinced me to go for it. Thanks!

I might have to pick up some of those wall cabinets! They look great and are a reasonable price. It's a shame they are made in China...

I'm actually pretty sure I'm going to go with these. At least 3 wall cabinets, the work bench, and the roller bench would all look great in my garage. They would all be pretty affordable too!

This may be a stupid question but I'm not too familiar with Sam's. Is it ever possible to get these discounted? They are good prices already, but I'm a cheap *******. :bounce:

That $58 online price is discounted, at least in my area, 'cause they are $70 in the store.

I've bought 4 of the bench cabinets, two over two years ago and I'm still satisfied. They can take 3hrs + to assemble and you could fill a dumpster with the packaging, but still worth it. BTW, China or not, they are one of the best packed products I've ever seen, you'd think it was fine furniture.

I also have a few of the large storage cabinets and they get a  as well.

Wish I hadn't seen that online price, my sons may be getting a few more Christmas goodies. (to match the bench cabinets they got last year)

WIggum: your attention to detail paid off, looks great!

I finally bought a couple of these, one floor cabinet and one wall cabinet. My local Sam's only had one wall cabinet in stock so I figured I would get a couple more when they restock. I would agree with the others here, they seem like very high quality for the price, are packaged wonderfully, and went together very nicely. I have one problem. The wall cabinets are 24" wide, and come with nice wall brackets for mounting on 16" centers. But....how the heck do you **** them together on 16" studs? I saw one guy using a 1x4 first then screwing the brackets to that, but then the cabinets are not flush against the wall, and Wiggum mounted them on concrete so stud spacing wasn't a factor. Any thoughts?

Wiggum, That looks awesome. Great job the install looks fantastic.

I have been buying these cabinets up as well. I have 4 wall cabinets, the small upper tool box, and the trash can. I can't wait to get my drywall finished so I can install mine.

That is an amazing build, well done! How did you mount those wall cabinets so they are butted next to each other?

How well do the drawers and slides hold up for you guys?

I plan on keeping my Craftsman 26" roller for my hand tools and keeping some power tools and other hardware and stuff in the drawers of the Seville cabinets. It would let me clear all that **** out of my tool box and give me a ton more room for my cramped hand tools.
