Does regular PVC cement stick to this stuff? Thinking about using it for rain water off my shop to back feed some water storage tanks. Some have the internal gasket.. some are straight piped.

I'm assuming it will work, I just know the pipes are very chemical resistant so I really never tried it.

I have it all over my property for underground drains -- it uses gasket fittings. I never glue it.

Yes, it's PVC and PVC glue works fine. It's just a different color. The size is slightly different but fittings are available for it. Around here it is used for Gutter drains. You can get fittings that go from it to both standard sizes of rectangular down spouts. Comes with bell ends like conduit so it can be glued without an additional coupling.

People assume sch40 is better than sdr35 because it's stronger and you can glue the fittings, but honestly that's the opposite of what you want outdoors. The reason sdr35 is available with gasketed bell ends is not just for ease of installation - it also allows the joints to expand/contract/flex without cracking and the same goes for the more flexible sidewall.

it also allows the joints to pull apart. yes you can buy the same style fittings in sdr and i think lowe's may still sell it but i would still use sch 40 or hell even foam core

Sdr35 is available everywhere. Homedepot and lowes just to name a few. You dont need sch40 for external use. Sdr35 comes in glue and gasket fittings.

No, Sdr35 isn't available everywhere. Gotta go to a plumbing supply house or plastics supply house to get it in the Denver metro area.

Availability usually depends on a combination of local codes, local preferences, local manufacturers, etc.

We could go off into a whole long discussion about PVC vs. ABS and it usually amounts to local preference.
